Maintenance works on the A4 Brescia-Padova and on the A31 Valdastico will start again from this weekend in March and during the coming weekends, with continuous 24-hour organisation of the worksites, on the road pavement. However, these works will still allow transit for travellers in two lanes per carriageway on the A4 and one lane on the A31. This will involve resurfacing the road surface, which, on all 235 km of the sections managed by A4 Holding, is a draining and sound-absorbing pavement, which guarantees higher safety standards than traditional asphalt and allows for greater grip, while also reducing the noise caused by tyres rolling on the asphalt.
Approximately 40 kilometres of motorway, divided into several lots, will be involved this year in the interventions that will extend from mid-March until November and will also concern the pavements of the two service areas of Monte Alto Est and Limenella West, of the Tangenziale Sud di Vicenza (Vicenza South Bypass) and of the road network outside the Desenzano del Garda Bus Station.
An investment of approximately 20 million euro is now annually reserved by A4 Holding for this basic type of intervention, which is indispensable to minimise the causes of accidents due to weather phenomena and any deterioration of the asphalt pavement, which is regularly monitored by the concessionaire.
The organisation of the work will involve a total of approximately 80 people, including personnel from external companies and Autostrada Brescia Padova, which will be in charge of managing the work, organising, supervising and coordinating the site activities that will take place between 8 p.m. on Friday and 6 a.m. on Monday morning.
